is this money worth anything, a five and a twenty from 1929?

two different banks, 20 is from Richmond virginia, and the 5 is from first cit. of tenn.

    Yes they are.

    a lot depends upon the condition of the notes however.

    The $20 bill is not that rare, howvere the $5 bill is extremely rare. Recent bills from 1929 in very good condition from the Tennessee bank have sold for $400.

    The $20 bill sounds like it is probably a Federal Reserve Bank Note. Those retail for around $40 in average circulated condition. Here is a listing of such notes presently for sale on eBay:

    I will need more information on the $5 note: the complete name of the bank and city, plus the charter number (the heavy black number on each end of the front of the note. On Type 2 notes, that same number appears after the serial number - if that is the case, I need to know that). Even the most common $5 National Bank Notes sell for $40 in low grade, and a smaller town bank in high grade may be much more.
