How do I make my boots stop squeaking?

My old boots are starting to squeak. How do I make them stop?

    try talcum powder.

    In cartoons, the character usually pulls out a can of oil, and 'puttt, putt' the creaking is gone. Usually boots creak because of the stiffness of the leather. Try using some silicone wax to soften it. Don't use natural wax that can harden when cold and only make it worse. Check also the eyelets to see if there is any friction that may be causing the squeaking. Wax those as well.
