Will Republicans try to pass health care reform?

When the Reps. get back into power, if we haven't already, do you think they will try to pass their ideas for health care reform? Or will they ignore the problem like they have consistently done in the past?

Now that the issue has gotten so much attention I can't see them not writing a bill for it. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean the health care bill will do much of anything, but they can't afford to ignore the issue if they had the chance to pass something.

Contrary to popular opinion on these boards, the vast majority of Americans do support health care reform of some type. Last I remember, 52% supported the public option according to some CNN polls. You can take that for whatever you feel that's worth. I recommend searching for some polls yourself, as I'm only going by memory in this place.

In sum: They'll try to pass a bill but it probably won't change much.

Also, what was the point of bringing up Teddy Roosevelt? He was a progressive... this was before the modern incarnations of either major political party. Posts like yours just mystify me... it's as if the name of a political party is enough to convey everything about it.

Actually, the original health care reformer was a Republican: Theodore Roosevelt

The Republicans better do something about health care. The current system is in an inflationary bubble rising much faster than the rest of the economy. This generation has already learned what happens when bubbles go unchecked!

If they are smart, they will handle each reform one at a time, with certain compromises here and there.

For example, in exchange for tort reform, how about allowing people working for that small shop in town an opportunity to buy into Medicare (not Medicaid) to help share the costs for the elderly, who use it more?

    Just a thought.

I believe they will reform the current program. Hopefully, they will start busting the medicare cheats, including the doctors, hospitals, lawyers, insurance companies, clinics, and bogus claims, that overwhelm the system on a daily basis.

I am particularly irked at doctors and specialists who walk into a hospital room, say HI to the patient, and submit a huge bill to medicare. Or, if you have proof of insurance, the scams at most hospital ER's, when they over examine, over test, and over medicate, the average patient.just to maximize the bill submitted to the insurance companies. And we wonder why medical costs are as high as they are !

They like to talk about all the health care reform plans they have and how the Democrats always ignore their suggestions. Yet they had the majority for 12 years and did nothing but do everything possible to nip health care reform in the bud. So, to answer your question, probably not.

the prosperous elitist in common terms care approximately their monies and their investments.Politics is a mechanism of the elite to maintain their superabundant industry share. The political events do not in all probability characterize the balloting public, and in fact there's no real selection in political applicants. study the historic past of the Rockerfellers besides as Buffet and Gates. Sounds magnificent on the beginning up blush that their monies are used for humanitarian skill. think of pertaining to to the guidelines that are formed to avert their monies from taxation that would want for use for matters interior the final inhabitants. The political events are formed with 'like" thinkers so as that the "Elite participant can to hold directly to their wealth and skill to generate greater wealth and skill of their proper pastime and not that of the taxpaying voters and those in prefer of social welfare. interesting that the elites use monies in coming up international locations as detrimental to courses interior the U. Not until the whole system blows up such as a large number of employers quit providing health insurance or medicare completely goes belly up.

  • Republicans favour some way of continuing our antiquated, inefficient, and downright evil healthcare system as it is.

Whatever Republicans pass ought to be just called "The Private Health Insurance Industry Security & Protections Act", and call it "healthcare reform".

Tort Reform, Portability, and Medical Savings Plans.

3 GOP ideas that will actually make a difference.

I suppose you want 1/6th of our economy run by the government? Great idea.. it has worked so well in Canada and the UK right?

Maybe we should hand over the responsibility to ACORN?
