MacBook Pro charger getting really hot - help?
I was charging my MacBook Pro for about 2 whole hours (it was in the 2O%),I was going to turn it off and then I went to unplug the charger. I unplugged it from the wall (the extender part that your hook up) and then I went to unplug the extender part from the charger part. As I went to do that, the charger box-thing was very hot (and it smelled like a hot curling iron),so I unplugged it as fast as I could and laid the charger-box down so it could cool off (I usually put everything back in the box because I don't have a desk in my room yet,but I'm not too sure if I want the hot charger near my MacBook). But as I went to move things out of the way,I saw some slippers next to me and one of them was quite warm (I suppose the charger box was laying on top on the slipper accidentally). This is the first time that the charger box has been that hot before, its usually quite warm.
Can someone tell me why the charger box got so damn hot? Was it because it was laying on top of the slipper? I'm a little worried that it might happen again and/or cause a fire, mess up my laptop,or something.
it was so hot, that I actually thought that I would burn myself.

The charger does tend to be quite warm, but that sounds like the charger has a messed up connection inside it, take it back to an Apple store. If it was your MBP, the computer itself would be hot.

My charger almost caught on fire after being plugged up for ten minutes. This happens when it s very old. It s time to get a replacement.

It's normal for it to get hot. It won't get hot enough to burn anything, however, so don't worry about that.
Once your computer is charged, unplug the charger from the wall and it will cool.

That's perfectly normal. If you're not convinced, then go to an Apple store and tell them you want an AC adapter replacement.

Mine always gets hot. It lays on a carpet most of the time and has not burned a thing. It's normal

Mine is barely warm. Take it to the Apple Store and have them check it out. Be sure the visit is documented.
