Very disturbing, graphic dreams. What does it mean?

I've been having some very gory dreams lately. I've had gory dreams as a kid as well, but not this bad. They're never considered nightmares to me, in fact, I don't get scared of them at all.

Mots of the dreams have to do with the mutilation of other people, ghosts, major disasters, and demons.

One that I had more recently was where I sort of jumped out of my body and then saw myself getting ripped apart from the inside out, and under me was a doll.....I've also had dreams where there have been major explosions and buildings getting destroyed, almost like that of an Armageddon.

I don't know why. I asked my mom about it and she said that people with Bipolar disorder seem to have graphic dreams, but I don't have that. I have been diagnosed with Dimorphic Disorder, which means I've had depression for most of my life. My sister does have Bipolar disorder though.

But I just want to know why my dreams are so gory and graphic?

Do you expect to have bad dreams? Are you stressed before you go to sleep? Do you spend any time on electronics before going to bed?

You just need to take it easy, repeating in your head as you drop off "I am relaxed, I am relaxed"

    You'll see, it really works

Well, I heard that a dream is a fulfillment of a wish. But I don't know why you would wish for that to happen! Maybe it is because you are watching too many horror movies or scary stuff. Whatever you do at night before you fall asleep is what you will be thinking about at night when you are sleeping. I think.

  • Your probably going through something in life that have caused those dreams. I used to have dreams like that and that was because it seems as though I've seen those things before in m,y life. Have yyou ever thought of how those dreams have come to be?

Given your diagnosis, I would say that has something to do with it.

"Armageddon" dreams are always baffling. Usually they're very scary and vivid. We all have them from time to time, probably pointing to the fact that we are sub-consciously aware of its approach.
