96 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 5.2 engine timing Chain Marks?

What positions do the dots on the two gears suppose to be set...at what O'clock?

I just got this truck for little or nothing and trying to get it running...

I got the timing now....I'm wondering what would keep the coil and distributor from firing?

    Crank gear 12 o'clock cam at 6.

    If you messed with distributor, it's probably out of time. When the dots are lined up like above mentioned, that is firing cyl #6.
