Firefox keeps trying to restore my tabs when I reboot my computer, don't -want- it to. Any help?
I close out of Firefox completely and in the morning when I restart my computer, Firefox's homepage shows "would you like to restore these tabs?" and shows me the last page or few pages I had open before I closed the browser the night before.
In my Internet -> Options I have it set so that it should show my HOMEPAGE not try to restore my tabs. I'm not quite sure how to get it to stop doing this, and it gets a little aggravating because I close out of my browser and shut down my computer and it acts like it was accidental when it wasn't.
Any way I can get it to do what I have it set to do? Any help would be great, thanks!
It doesn't give me the option when I quit any more to save tabs or not, I think do to my settings about not restoring? Not sure.
Toni: That's exactly what I said in my initial post. I have it set to that. But it's restoring my tabs on start up ANYWAY.
Sorry Sheik, but that's what I've said twice now that I've done. You just accessed it from a different way. :(
NOW it's giving me the new problem of opening tabs rather than new windows (which I also have it set to do)....so it's like I set the options the way I want and Firefox is just completely ignoring them...
About to try another browser at this rate. ><

give up on firefox it has too many problems in the latest editions try orca, k-meleon or flock all mozilla browsers like firefox but faster and without the problems, firefox help and mozillazine both deny there are any problems but there are hundreds of reported problems with firefox all over the internet. check your task manager firefox sometimes opens multiple times and freezes the computer without opening any windows something mozillazine "experts" say is impossible

You go to Start > mouse over on Firefox > Right click the icon > you will see these options:
Browse internet, Firefox options, Firefox safe mode , remove from this list.
Click on Firefox Options
Click on General Tab
Decide on what u wanna do when start up..if you have this problem, try choosing " Show my Home Page" Choose a homepage e.g google, yahoo or whatever. Click OK.
Then you can start your firefox now. It will come up with something like "oh this is embarassing..bla bla.." here you will be given a chance to restore or restart a fresh new page OR remove the problematic tab, you can at this stage choose to click on the tab you do not want to restore by clicking the tick ( unticking it).
Then you can still restore some of the tabs you want to still see and remove those you dont. Othewise of course you can always choose to restart with a new page option..
Hope it helps.
Source(s): own experience with problematic tabs and automatic restore which ends up my pc stalled last time. Now i used the latest firefox. I still think it is one of the best around. - 1 decade ago
I use Firefox and it gives me the option of "save tabs" or "quit." Doesn't yours? I'm not a geek so that's all I can offer.

Do this:
go on firefox:
tools --> options --> go on General tab --> look on Startup
and then fix it!
