april showers bring may flowers, may flowers bring pilgrims. why?

    Obviously because the Mayflower was the name of the ship that brought pilgrims to the new world, or to America.

    There is a saying "April showers bring May flowers" because April is a traditionally rainy mount. In May all the flowers bloom thanks to the water.

    The pilgrims arrived in America on a boat called the Mayflower, so it's a play off of the saying.
