Does anyone know the name of this movie?

So this won't be the best description as i watched it ages ago.

I have a feeling the title has something to do with the word boat.

Its from around the 50s or so.(it was on TCM when i saw it)

The main character is a blonde beauty, she sings alot in the movie for everyone, and her dad is like the captain or something.

    Does the daughter fall in love with a gambler. If she does it's the film showboat made in 1951.

    I'm not sure about 50's but could it be Love Boat ??? It may also have been a film but it was certainly a series x
