need information on a revolver?

I am looking at a revolver on Gunbroker.com. It is a Cimarron 4 3/4" 22LR caliber sixgun called the Plinkerton. I've searched the web and can't find any information on the gun. Anyone have any experiences with the gun or manufacturer and have any recommendations?

Update:

Thanks Guys - i think i had too much information in the search so all i could find were storefronts.

Update 2:

I thought about the Ruger and the Heritage Arms, but the price point on the Cimarron is so much better for a plinking gun. any suggestions on better guns - 4.5" barrel in 22lr revolver for under $200.00?

Cimarrons are Uberti's top of the line pistols. They are Italian made good quality copies of the Colt SAA ( Single Action Army) A LOT of cowboy action shooters use Cimarrons and Ubertis as the real Colt pistols cost about 3 to 4 times as much. I have handled and fired several Ubertis and Cimarrons, they are exact copies of Colt SAA, with the same grip profile, weight and action. If you're in the market for a good quality single action rimfire revolver that's not going to break the bank, the Cimarron is definitely worth your money. The fit and finish of these are just as good as some USFA firearms I have seen that cost over $1300 each!

Cimarron is an importer located in Texas. They import Uberiti products built to their standards (usually very good fit and finish) and let their in house gun smith double check timing and trigger pull etc. I have owned a few Cimarron big bore Ubertis and have been very happy with them, especially for what I paid for those pistols compared to a genuine Colt.

I don't think the Plinkerton is a Uberti product. Uberti offers a very nice 22 Colt clone that is more expensive than the cheaper Plinkerton that Cimerron imports from another Italian house.

The Pinkerton 22... it's a price leader. I'd buy the powder coated Pinkerton before I'd get a Heritage Arms 22 Single action. I have handled several... but own several other 22 pistols so I had no need to purchase one.

Be advised... buy a Pinkerton and you are settling for less than a Ruger Single Six, the old Sauer 22's from years ago, the old Colt's Frontiers and new USFA 22 revolvers are much better (and much more expensive).

The Plinkerton has a mechanical safety. If you don't over- pay for the gun I'd think it would make a good little teaching and can shooting plinking gun.

I'll echo Butch on this one. Uberti makes some fine hardware, in the tradition of Beretta, Benelli, Franchi, and other quality Italian made arms. Cimarron Arms is a U.S. company, but some guns are made by Chiappa, most especially your .22 Plinkerton. Chiappa is made in Italy as well. I left you enough links to keep you going for a month. Don't be afraid to buy the Plinkerton. (Of course, with a screen name like WOP2, did you think I was gonna badmouth Italian firearms?)
