What's the difference between these 2 sentences?

1- The committee declared Isabelle the winner.

2- She sang them a song.

The first belongs to Pattern 6

The second belongs to Pattern 7

But I can't see much difference.

Anyone?

They both have a subject/ verb/ indirect object/ direct object order but the first one uses nouns as the subject and indirect object the second one uses pronouns.

Other than that, I have no idea!

    1- The committee(Subject) declared(Verb) Isabelle(Object) the winner(Complement).

    2- She(Subject) sang(Verb) them(Indirect Object) a song(Direct Object).

In SVOC sentences like no.1, O and C are equal (O=C, Isabelle is the winner).

In SVOO sentences like no.2, two O's are not euqal (them ≠ a song).

    That is the difference.
