5-year-old boy with "plumber's crack"?

Please help, and don't be unkind. My son is nearly 5, and no matter what type of pants he wears, they slip down to mid-hip, exposing quite a bit of his behind. I've tried pants with elastic waist, regular waist, even those where you can adjust the waist with elastic, and NOTHING WORKS! It's kind of funny right now, but he's getting older and other kids will begin to tease him soon.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm about to just buy the kid some suspenders, but that will introduce a whole new set of problems...I'd put him in longer t-shirts, but he's really big for his age and I can't find any.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Maybe you can find onesie types of shirts for him or have some tailor made. That would solve that. If that isnt feasible, then try the suspenders. Because it seems you've tried everything else.

I think suspenders would be okay on a 5 yr old..personally I think it's cute....and if not cover them with an extra shirt...try and find ones with skulls and stuff on them...I hate the style of pants right now...happens to my older daughters all the time(ages 12&16)

My son is weird shaped too and lots of clothes don't fit him right. When they do fit him tummy they are way too short, and when they are proper length they fall right off.

We got him a belt. Problem solved!

i have the same problem, my daughter is 3 so at the minute i just have her in vests, its funny now but as you say when they get older it will be horrible for her, the good things in girls is she can wears dresses, can you not just buy lots of pairs of dungarees, thats seems to solve my problem!
