How long does it take to make a hamburger and fries?

If I am making one burger and some fries................

I turn the deep fryer on because it takes it about 10 minutes to heat the oil.

Peel the potato and slice it, put the slices in a bowl of ice water

.......total time 2 min.

Get the veggies ready...slice the onion, pull off the lettuce leaves...etc.

....Total time 2 minutes.

Shape the hamburger patty and put it in a pan over med./high heat. Salt and pepper.

.........Total time 1 minute.

Cook the hamburger on the first side.

.....Total time 3 minutes.

Flip the burger over to cook on 2nd side.

Get the bun ready and open on a plate. Put the condiments and veggies on the open bun.

.....Total time 1 minute.

Drain the ice water off of the potatoes and quickly pat dry with a paper towel.

......Total time 1 minute.

Drop the fries in the hot oil.

Count to 60.

.....Total time 1 minute.

Your burger is now done (total cook time 6 min.). Remove it from the pan and place it on the open bun.

Find something to do for 3 minutes.

Take fries from deep fryer, dump on paper towel, blot, salt. put on plate.

......Total time 1/2 minute.

Total time elapsed from beginning....14 1/2 minutes.

The total cook time for the burger is 6 min. and the total cook time for the fries is 4 min. The additional time is waiting for the oil to heat.

Wait, do you have to make your own buns as well?

If so, the it will take 2 hours (the bun has to bake).

If you don't have to do this, then it could take you 45 minutes just to do everything else, if you do more than one thing at once (ex: slice all the veggies at once, bake the burger at the same time you're frying the fries, ect.)

for fries you need to cut potatos and then fry them til there crisp. not too long to make. try it. As for the hamburger, thawing out the meat and actually cooking it under the right temperature and waiting til its right, takes some time. i say try it and time yourself
