Is the Maryam mentioned in the Koran as the mother of Jesus also the sister of Moses and Aaron?
I have read that the Koran identifies Maryam, the mother of Jesus as the same person as Maryam, the sister of Aaron (Harun) and Moses (musa).
Is this true? If so, does that mean that Moses was Jesus uncle? Or is this anti-Islam propaganda?

Mr. Charles;
Your question is very difficult. The Koran, as much as we understand that verse, considers Virgin Mary as the same Mary the sister of Moses and Aaron.

Lots of folks were named Miriam. There were at least three in the four accepted accounts of the Gospel.
Also, in Exodus, Miriam is not Moses' mother, but his sister.
Hope this is helpful.
Since Arabic is a very poetic language, I'm inclined to cut Mohammed a bit of slack and suggest that he is saying sister of Miriam in a poetic sense.
We often hear of the term "Rachel's Children," but nobody is suggesting that the people involved are literally her children.
If this seems a bit obtuse, let me put it this way: All Jews and Christians today are Rachel's children.
We need to find ways to get along, not seek out yet more things to disagreeably disagree about.
Think very hard about this saying and then go learn what it means for you:

Moses would have been a ggggggggggg....great uncle of Jesus. Moses descended from Levi and Jesus from Judah.
Miriam - their rebellion. (1.) The sister of Moses and Aaron (Ex. 2:4-10; 1 Chr. 6:3). Her name is prominent in the history of the Exodus. She is called "the prophetess" (Ex. 15:20). She took the lead in the song of triumph after the passage of the Red Sea. She died at Kadesh during the second encampment at that place, toward the close of the wanderings in the wilderness, and was buried there (Num. 20:1).

That's correct. In the Qur'an Maryam, the mother of Jesus, is the same person as Maryam, the sister of Harun.

Maryam sis of Aaron and Moses is a koranic version. St Mary of the Christian bible is daughter of Joachim and Anna, in their old age. So, Maryam is not St Mary of the Christian Bible.

Not every Islamic women puts on a shawl and refuses to walk around without a man. Just as much as not every Christian believes in refusing to go to the doctor for any disease even if it kills them like a christian scientist.
Islam was created after Christianity, people who worship Islam believe that the prophet Mohammad was told by God that Christianity had strayed too far from what it was meant to be and asked him to fix things. So yes, they have a lot of things in common, including the stories and people, but they worship a little differently.

pretty much impossible, as they lived around 1500 years apart.
the Torah records Miriam's death at the age of 126, a few months before Aaron and Moses died. i don't know how much of the Torah is accepted as truth by muslims.

no, Maryam mother of Jesus is not literal sister of Harun, she is called sister of Harun a honor to her because they raised her to his status, and she is from his tribe, its like me saying aunt Bilqees(queen of Sheba) she is not my aunt but because she is ancestor of mine and I respect her.
