An adverb. Fast describes how Sunil bowls. Bowls is a verb and fast is describing it. Sunil himself is not fast.

It's an adjective.
No, no, naw (in Stewie's manner).
I'm just joking. It's an adverb, because and adverb is something that qualifies (talks about) a verb, an action, that is.
In the sentence given, In what manner does Sunial perform the action of bowling? He does it fast (note that there's no such word as fastly).
And that's why it's an adverb.

Yes, whatever modifies a verb is an adverb.
When someone uses a word normally thought of as an adjective as an adverb, like your example or these advertising slogans,
"Think different."
"Eat fresh!"
... It's called a "flat adverb."
