Please help! My old Mercedes-Benz is corroding.?

The 3 pointed star on the hood. The hood ornament which is made of aluminum or some other non-magnetic material is corroding along the 3 points of the star. How do I stop this corrosion? What substance should I apply to it? It's the original hood ornament and I want to save it. The salty air from the pacific ocean is eating it away. I live right on the beach.

    sealing agents work wonders. call a mercedes benz dealership and ask what they recommend.
