Dear Lolaloo002,
Flagyl, also called Metronidazole, is a medicine used to treat both parasitic and bacterial infections. Thus, to answer your question, being sexually active depends on why Flagyl was prescribed. If the Flagyl was prescribed for gastrointestinal or liver conditions such as an amoeba, diarrhea, or colitis, engaging in sexual activity as tolerated should be fine realizing that urethral burning, headache, dicoloration of the urine, a metallic taste in your mouth, dizziness, and nerve tingling may occur. However, if the Flagyl was prescribed for vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases such as Gardenella Vaginalis or Trichomonas Vaginalis, holding off on intercourse is hightly recommended until the organism(s) is completely removed from the genital tract. You should remain in close contact with your doctor until the organism no longer causes your symptoms. Also, remember never to drink alcohol with Metronidazole since a severe reaction will occur along with possible drug induced pancreatitis. Please feel free to remain in contact if more questions persist. Thanks.
Respectfully,
Roshin
