How do you view this present trend among college students?

Question

A week ago,  I had been to a Professional college for its Annual Day Celebrations organised totally by its students at Chennai. 
   As a practice, they have invited alll the other colleges including some Arts Colleges Forums also to participate in the event.

    So, there were variety of programmes both by various professional college students as well as Arts college students.

    The variety programmes presented by the professional college students were of very decent type whereas the programmes of the Arts College students are of smewhat ""Adults Only"" type. Even the spectators had an embarassed time during their presentation.

     Now comes the climax :--

     The judges invited for the programmes are , one a famous television producer & comperer and the other, an upcoming cine artiste.

      These two adjudged the performance of the Arts College students as "BEST" and advised that "Professional College students"" should learn how to do such programmes from these Arts College Students.

   As far as I know atleast at Chennai, professional college students are always concentrate only on their studies and on compulsion from their higher-ups, they organise these kind of programmes, whereas in Arts colleges, it is just opposite.

     How these ""dignified judges"", one of them even declared on the stage, that for the first time he entered a college campus atleast for this function(NAAN MAZHAIKKU KOODA SCHOOL PAKKAM PONADHILLAE!!! is the exact words of his statement), advise these professional college students to follow these Arts college students for such an adultery type programme???

    I may be somewhat not clear in elaborating the incident. But I am sure you, learned members of Y/A must have understood what I wanted to say.

    May I know your views on this ?????

Well!!

This is quite prevalent in all educational institutions.

They do this to show their power or please the higher ups!!!

These idiots who had never gone to school will address public as if they know everything!!

And if he is a Cine person, Dont expect much from them... They always think that people like to see such programs only!!

One example from my experience:

During my school days, we went to St. Joseph College (where Hon. Ex President Dr. APJ Studied) for an exhibition on electric power.
I suppose it was 2001-2002. Then, AIADMK was in power. They had invited the then Electricity  minister- Jeyakumar and MLA Valarmathi
In that introductory function, the MLA Valarmathi started praising JJ "இதய தெய்வம் புரட்சித் தலைவி தாக செம்மல் தமிழகத்தின் நிரந்தர முதல்வர் அம்மா". Believe it or not? She told this 33 times exactly within her 10 min speech (We counted it!!)
Then, came the Electricity Minister . He also praised their leader along with their accomplishments.
He also told that CM JJ is doing a lot..

The most horrible fact was that then JJ was not the Chief MInister. It was O Paneer Selvam.. Around 4 months had passed since he came to power!!

Maybe you interpreted the programs wrong. Art students are supposed to be creative and there's a lot that can be done with sensuality. Obviously this isn't what professional students are used to doing.
Like I said people express themselves differently and maybe the arts people are more comfortable with such "adult" programs and so were the judges.

Hiyooo  these kinds of incidents often happens.First of all my humble request to eucational institutes pls dont call members relating to film ind or politics as chief guests for educational or evn cultural fuctions.I hav experienced several incidents like this. Once we had cultural day in my school we invited an actor i dont like to disclose his name  he  blabbered like anything He was saying how he teased his teachers & how he bunked his classes he wes speaking everything irrelevant to the program . i really got headache And his judgement was so stupid that evn I can judge better than him.Another worst  incident for annual day we had a guest who is a producer and a party member .He began his political campaign in the school itself. .U know what he said "Dont study a lot ,naan paartha varil romba padichavangala vida culturalsku preferance tharanvanga dhan Lifela munneri irukanga so culturalsku Madipukodunga .Studiesla average ja irrundha podhum "Like this he said  .I really felt like going to the stage & slapping him.I have seen so many gud persons too like once we had For Tamil literary Function we invited Gandhi Kannadhasan as Judge his speech was extraordinary.I think people like him can be called for literary or cultural functions.
