R&P, I have an argument for you to settle...it's Jimmy-related.?
So I'm in a bit of an argument with a friend. We were talking and I said that Jimmy Page was a legend of rock n roll. Then came the VERY mature "no he's not!" "uhm yes he IS!" "is not!" "IS!" haha. Well he's not a fan at all of rock so you can see how this may have been.
Basically, my question is: even if you do not like the genre/band/whatever, can you still recognize that someone is a "legend" (well known & famous, most likely *very* talented)?
Like if someone said "You know, I don't like funk...but I definitely acknowledge that James Brown is the legend of that genre!" does that..make sense?
BQ: Do YOU think Jimmy Page is a rock legend? Not necessarily the best guitarist but..do you think he's considered a 'legend'?

Um, it really depends. The word legend gets thrown around way, way, way too much. It also, to me, depends on what kind of legend we are referring to. If we are talking about someone who gained hype more for other circumstances, aside from music, like say Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, or Jimi Hendrix, then no, I can't call them legends. Wildly popular, sure, but in terms of just pure overall talent, nothing there. If you mean people like Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, or say one Jimmy Page, then yes, I can call them legends.
BA: I would say so, yes.
BA2: meh, semi amazing? I'm not a huge Led Zep fan.

Even though i'm far from Pop Music's greatest fan, it would be hard to argue that anyone epitomized that Genre like Michael Jackson

yeah he is a legend and even if you dont like that genre you can still recocgnise a legend...like a hate elvis but hes a legend
