It will be just fine, we're supposed to get big waves, but not anything devastating. The only people that should be worried are on the peninsula or on the islands. Seattle is protected pretty well but the Olympics and the San Juan Islands, so the effect on the Puget Sound should be very minimal.

Yes, the tsunami from Chile will travel up the west coast and eventually hit Seattle. About 3PM today the wave front will reach the Washington coast, by which time the wave height is expected to be about 6 inches. (That's one half foot). The surge will travel into Puget Sound and reach Seattle before 4PM local time, by which it is expected to be less than 3 inches tall. Or, essentially impossible to measure as the local waves are normally significantly bigger than that.
So, nothing to worry about this time. A local earthquake might be a different story.

Watch the News or listen to the radio, they will keep you posted. Do you know where you tsunami evacuation route is? New blue signs have been put up in the past year or so and you should know where they are. Check www.seattleredcross.org and http://www.prh.noaa.gov/ptwc/?region=1.

I would not worry much as it has to travel a long way and the wave will not be coming from across the pacific impacting the shore directly head on.
