How to get rid of an AIM virus?
So a while back ago there was a virus going around on AIM. I unfortunately got it, i tried everything from deleting AIM and downloading it again to resetting my password. I cannot use any kind of new AIM, so i am stuck with AIM 5.8 which i am fine with. But the thing is, i cannot access my AIM email, which i now need. So what can i do?
i tried to, but once i punch in my password, it says it doesnt work and my password is the same as my password for AIM which does work

"If hyperlinks such as http://10.2.30.40:8180/ or another number automatically appear in IM's that you send, it probably means that your system is infected with the "W32/Aplore@MM" virus/worm. Both McAfee and Symantec have web pages set up with descriptions and removal instructions."
Go to the Add/Remove control panel and uninstall the following:
• "Bargain Buddy"
• "Lycos Sidesearch" (Unless you intentionally installed this program.)
• "Web Helper"
• "Win Favorites"
• Anything with "n-CASE" in the name.
• Anything else that looks suspicious.
This is what they say on official AIM site...hope it helps you...

AIM virus? lol what the heck? Run a anti-virus in safe mode (tap f-8 at computer startup and choose safe mode) If you dont have one, I would suggest ad-aware free

Isn't AIM, as well as AIM email available online? That should be where you should go for that.

use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
