  • Calculate Net Present Value?

This company is considering opening a new store.

Cost of property/construction of store is $2,500,000

Need to hire a manager for $60,000/year and 3 sales associates for $40,000/year

Estimated operating costs other than salaries are $70,000/year

Store is expected to generate gross profit of $600,000 in year 1-2

Store is expected to generate gross profit of $800,000 in year 3-4

Store is expected to generate gross profit of $1,000,000 in years 5-7

Assuming the company requires a 9% annual return and uses a time horizon of 7 years, what is the net present value?

    Thank you!!

I suck at math >.< Accounting is not my strong suit.

  • managerial accounting help -- for the life of me, I can't figure it out-- how can I find the break even point [in units]?

this is a company selling snowmobiles:

    fixed expenses: $615,000

sales price of each product: $12,500

    variable costs: $5360

    1. estimate how many snowmobiles need to be sold to breakeven

^ This is where I am having trouble. I know the equations.. but I can't seem to figure out how to find variable cost per unit without knowing the amount of units produced in that time frame.

My professor told me that if I know selling price, variable costs, and fixed costs, than I should be able to solve for the quantity.

    Help.

    Thank you. Much appreciated.

  • i'm overwhelmed, what should i do?

i'm an incoming junior in high school, i'm called a workaholic, or a busy bee by many people. i'm scared. during the school year, i'll have two jobs, i'm currently an officer for the largest club on campus, i signed up for the swim team, and not to mention, i've got my AP classes. you can say i am feeling overwhelmed. i've thought a lot about resigning office for my club. i have been somewhat neglecting it and i feel bad, everyone understands, but my job is important. it's a service club and i am the service chair. i've never had problems with setting up services, it's just i feel like i've got too much on my plate right now. i don't even know if i will be able to fit the swim team in my schedule. the school year is going to be so hectic. i've been telling myself to just stick with everything and see what happens. but now, i'm just feeling tired and wondering what the hell am i going to do. everyone always tells me they think i can do it, and that i worry too much. what the hell am i going to do.

  • i need help with this debate, HELP?

my topic for this debate is gay marriage

and i unfortunately was assigned con

which sucks for me because i am totally pro and i have no clue whatsoever to say for this debate

to be honest, i feel like there is no way to win this debate for the con side

this project is worth 100 points, and in my AP world history class, that's the highest amount of points he has ever given us for anything, so it definitely will affect my grade

also, the winning side of the debate gets a higher grade

so if i'm not going to win, then i should at least put up a good fight

the only thing is... i have no clue how i am going to do this

so i was just wondering, what would i or should i say for this debate?

i know the reasons to why people are against gay marriage [religion, raising kids, etc..] but personally, i find those reasons to be stupid and very very easily to argue against and to counter

so i really really really need help with this debate

  • i need some help with finding meaningful volunteer services?

i'm the current service chair for my key club, and i am having a tremendously hard time trying to find meaningful services [soup kitchens, etc.] that are a reasonable distance away

whenever i book services, i try to think of the members' time and the distance, evidently that's not enough.

so i am open to any suggestions for meaningful services

i know of such services, but the problem is, i don't think members can be driven all the way to los angeles or somewhere far, which is why i am trying to find something both meaningful and at a reasonable distance.

so please, help me. and by meaningful service, i mean NOTHING like clapping for the runners at a marathon -.-
