Well, there's Stephen King's The Stand, which was made into an 8-hour television series event. It's a fabulous book, though very long.

There's Next by Michael Crichton, which is an amazing fiction thriller about the raging and dangerous world of modern genetics.

Mossflower by Brian Jacques, a book that you would think is a children's book but is not, about a mouse that goes on an epic quest to find the one person that can save his home from a tyrannic cat.

There's Ranger's Apprentice: The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan, a medieval tale about an orphaned boy being tutored by a strange and mysterious Ranger to protect his kingdom.

Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier, taking place in the turbulent 1800s, about a boy who lives among native American tribes and rises to a very influential position in both the white and native world.

Gamma229 and the Battle for Earth by Tyler Ramsay, a sci-fi about a space fighter defending the earth from alien invaders (this one can only be bought on Amazon).

The Man Who was Poe by Avi, about a boy who teams up with a mysterious man to find his vanished sister.

That's all I got for now.

Despite a lot of controversy surrounding the book, I recommend the book "A MIlliion Little Pieces" by James Frey.

Smart teacher. Wants you to have to read the book, not just rent the movie at Blockbuster. Try reading "A Catcher In The Rye", by the recently deceased J.D. Salinger. Quite controversial in its time, but to my knowledge has never been made in to a movie.

I'd suggest anything by L.E. Modesitt Jr. or Magician by Raymond E. Feist. Maybe Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card if your reading level is lower.

i opt to propose Lolita. I even have examine hundreds of books and Lolita is quite the terrific factor I even have ever examine. it quite is predicated around a center elderly guy who has an obsession with an below-age female. the topic count is slightly stressful notwithstanding it quite is superbly written. it quite is not any longer that long while in comparison with maximum novels and that i'm helpful you would be waiting to discover tips about it on line.

Depending on how good of a reader you are:

Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood (Novel, but amazing)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Easy read, but also amazing)
