    It's typical partisan hackery.

The Patriot Act is just about the biggest load of insanity ever conceived. I swear the author drew inspiration straight from the novel "1984".

The left wing was FURIOUS when Bush put it into play, which (I think) was absolutely justified. But now that their savior, Mr. Obama, shows no intention of ending it, they all suddenly got reeeaaallly quiet about it....hmmmm......

In case you haven't noticed this country is run by people who would rather cheer for their "team" rather than do something worthwhile.

I do oppose it because of the fact it quite is a contravention of privateness basically because of the fact the patriot act is a contravention of privateness. as a count of actuality the patriot act became into and nevertheless is quite pointless. once you have sturdy reason to undercover agent on somebody it quite is speedy and subject-free to get a warrant, there has been very few situations while it quite is been a count of national secure practices that a warrant has been denied. the place have been you so referred to as patriots, conservatives, republicans who like plenty to wrap yourselves interior the yank flag while bush signed it into regulation. pass decrease back to college and take your 2 be conscious sound bites with you. present day dem.

Presidents are often useless in a first term because they're so cowardly and worried about re-election. I always thought, why not restructure it like the Virginia governors. They can serve as many terms as they're elected to, but they can't serve them consecutively, so, after one term, they have to step down, but they could run again. I thought that this had the possibility of striking an interesting balance. On one hand, they won't have to worry about running again in the next election, so they may be a bit more daring during their term, however, they wouldn't just get reckless during a second term, where they would be ineligible to run again anyway, with these corrupt backdoor pardons, etc. So, they can be a bit daring while still maintaining politically relevant for a possible run in the future. Who knows, it could be a big step in shaking up Washington. People have criticized the Virginia law as antiquated, but I think its a hell of an idea.

i say again, a center right authoritarian. wasn't my first choice, that's for sure. but then it came down to lesser of... we certainly didn't want bimbo and the old man in there. was hoping for some of that alleged socialism, ie. health care. of course by now mr obama has tossed that aside in favor of insurance companies.

they keep the fear of terrorism cooking, hot and steaming, the smell of it everywhere, sickening, oppressive. it doesn't matter who's in office.

That's kinda like what he did with the Iraq War - - said he was against it then voted to fund it. I think Bill Clinton was right when he said during the campaign....."this is just a big fairy tale".

The article's accompanying photograph with a shamed looking Obama says it all.

I'm quite disappointed in Obama, to be honest. He hasn't lived up to the hype.

I support the patriot act, and while I greatly dislike Obama, I'm glad he at least did this.

für Obama is taking it one step further - he wants to be able to track certain Americans via their cell phones

The Germans have a word for National Socialists - and that word is NAZI
