Mommies of 1-year-olds: What is your child's bedtime routine?

My son is 1 year old + 1 month, and I still give him a bottle of whole milk at bedtime. I know it's time to get him entirely off the bottle (he drinks sippy cups during the day - but I'm worried not enough) so I want to get him off of the bedtime bottle, but he LOVES it and I feel terrible taking it from him! So just wondering what other kids' bedtime routines are ..... we have bath, bottle, then bed .... sometimes a story.

We have bath first, water in a sippy cup during a story all together on the chair and then bed. I usually just give them water to drink, but sometimes warm milk in their sippy cups if theyre restless or had a busy day. Definitely no juice or anything after weve brushed our teeth!

I decided i wanted to get my son off his bottle at 12 months (hes 13 months old now) because he was just having sippy cups during the day like yours but i was also worried about taking it away from him but we did it & he was absolutley fine with it he didnt miss it at all. I also worried he wouldn't be getting enough calcium but i make sure he has yoghurts, cheese & other dairy during the day.

I started by giving him warm milk in a cup but he never really drank much, just goes to show it's not the milk they want its the comfort of the bottle (its habbit thats all). So now we have a routine of 6pm tidy up toys & get changed for bed (he usually has a bath before but not everyday so not really part of routine) then about 6.15pm/6.30pm we sit down with a smoothie & some oatmeal biscuits & watch cbeebies! Til 7pm when it goes off & we have a cuddle & read a couple of stories then off to brush teeth & bed so hes in bed & asleep by 7.30pm.

I'd say get rid off the bottle & give it a go because they really don't need it & it's bad for their little teeth. The longer you leave it the more attatched they become. Good luck :)

Well I gave my daughter a bottle til she was 2. She absolutely loved her "baba" and I continued to give her a bottle at bedtime. So her routine was dinner, bath, pj's stories and then it was quiet time with some soft music and a bottle of milk.-We had that routine since she was born, she always liked to be given her bottle instead of holding it ;) and the music was our quiet time together :))

After that I would place her in her bed around 7.30 and that was it :)

    Hello,

my daughter is 13 months, my daughter takes a cup of whole milk during her naptime and at bedtime. So about 2 cups of milk a day. Usually she has a bath, a cup of milk, i brush her teeth, put her in her crib and she falls asleep right away

I think before bed it is harmless. As long as it is one a day, and you arent putting it in the bed with him, it should be fine. You have a nice bedtime routine.

My daughter is 14 months old. She has a bath, nurses, plays a little with her big brother, then I take her to her room, sing to her & lay her down.
