What do you think of our children's names?
My three children are of English and Japanese decent so me and my hubby wanted to honour both heritages so we gave the children an English forename and Japanese middle name. We gave them English first names and not Japanese as we do live in England.
We know alot of people will think the names sound a little silly as their is such a big difference but we love all their names.
We have
Alice Keiko (pro:"Kay-Ee-Ko") who is 4 years old.
Henry Akio (pro:"Ah-Key-Oh) who is our 3 week old male twin
and Charlotte Kiyomi (pro:"Key-Oh-Mee") who is our 3 week old female twin.
Obviously we just call them Alice, Henry and Charlotte most of the time.
Keiko means "beloved"
Akio means "glorious man"
Kiyomi means "pure beauty"
Their surname is Maeda (pro:"My-Ade-Ah"
We love their names but would just like some opinions.
Be honest - if you think they sound silly then just say so.
No offence will be taken :)
I love how when people have different naming styles they always get branded as making up a family :| My children names and all, husband and life is 100% real.
Yes I accept putting the surname was a little foolish but I think the names sound better including the surname.

Years ago people did think of what names meant b4 they named their children. I also did that when I named my children. My son's name means the Lord is my God. I was so happy when my son was born that I wanted to praise God as well as give my son a strong name so I did both with his name. When my daughter was born my son was 4 yrs old and he helped me pick her name. He thought she was the greatest hing that ever happened to him and he wanted her to have a name that explained her outer beauty as well as her inner beauty. So he named her after a Greek Goddess. This was a name that we picked together while reading through names in a baby book and reading the names. My husband at the time did not name either child. He was too busy at work at the time to pay for the children's adoption costs. He also felt that because I wanted so badly to bare my children that at least i should have the naming part to myself.
The names you have for your children are wonderful. They have meaning and the reflect both culture.
Be happy!! And congratulations!!!

Your first names wouldn't be my first choices, but the middle names are lovely. Nothing wrong with your first names, just not my own taste. I think this was a great way to honor both heritages.
I applaud you for choosing normal, recognizable first names. I hate the overly creative trend for baby names these days. We are heading towards having an entire generation of people who cannot spell or pronounce each other's names!
So for your children's names, I say, "Well done!"

you asked this last night.
my answer didn't change.
I like Henry but Charlotte and Alice isn't something I'd use
truth I'd use Henry as a middle name personally
I tend to prefer uncommon names though
my ex and wife with are both causasian and named
their daughter Lorelei with a japense middle name
but I like it oddly enough
I think Akio and Keiko are kinda two close together

Why use the Japanese names as their first name? Nobody really cares for the middle name you know?

I like everyone name that you named.
A family member of mine name her daughter Sienna but she likes it and thats the main point. If you like it do it. My grandma got all upset because i was name Jennifer she wanted Jeanin and she remind me to this day. 26 years later and she wants me to name my daughter that if i do have a daughter i want her to be name aeries.

I think they are very nice. You honored both heritages which I think is a nice thing.

So..you put your children's full names on here, including your last name. That's stupid. If you're even NOT making up this family, which is doubtful.
Idiot.
