Is my best friend pregnant?
My girlfriend had unprotected sex yesterday morning, and when she told me last night that she finally did her crush, the first question I asked was, "Did you use protection?"
So that's a no.
She had sex at 9 in the morning and we were talking 12h later. We went to the pharmacy and got that plan B pill. So she took that at about 10:00PM, maybe later?
She also told me that she's supposed to get her period next week.
The first thing that popped into my head... was when do women ovulate?!
I'm pretty sure it's right before you have your period right?
So I guess my question is (to put my mind at ease), might she be pregnant? Or when are you most likely to get pregnant? Or I don't even know. We are going to buy a pregnancy test... but when is the earliest you can check?
I would love any additional advice you guys have...
I love you yahoo-ers :P
P.S.
I plan on making her go on birth control. (She's actually done this before, and I've told her she at least needs a condom).
I was thinking an injection would be best, just because her parents wouldn't find out. But I told her that there are many other ways for contraception that doesn't have to be taken orally or slapped on your *** (the patch). She didn't know this... :(

Every woman ovulates differently BUT it is safe to say that most women ovulate approximately 14 days prior to getting their peiod. That being said, there is only a two to three day stretch in which the egg can become fertilized. She took Plan B so hopefully she'll be okay!
Your friend should take a pregnancy test the first day of her missed period (if she misses it, that is). Good luck to you guys!

After having sex you can take Plan B within the next 72 hours for it to be effective, but like birth control it is not 100% effective. And the sooner you take it after sex the more effective it is supposed to be. Also ovulation usually occurs 12-14 days before a woman gets her next period. Thus, she is more likely to get pregnant a few days before and during the ovulation cycle. It looks like her chances are not likely to get pregnant, but there is no guarantee. Good luck with whatever happens. And if you want to prevent these things, make sure there is protection in the future. =)

Women generally ovulate 12-16 days BEFORE their expected period. It's quite possible that she could have conceived, but if she took Plan B within 72 hours of the intercourse, then that will reduce her chances. If she did conceive, a pregnancy test would not be positive so soon. If she does not get her period when she expects it, tell her to take a pregnancy test 18 days after the intercourse occurred. Good luck.

well if she took the plan b pill then it sould work it says that you should take it about a day after! so i should work! and first response should work 5 days earlyer! and make sure she takes it early in the morning when she wakes up the first thing in the morning since it has more hormone!
and well other wise she would have to wait untill she misses her period! (wich i think will come! )

plan b pill works up to five days after unprotected sex plus it takes up to three days to fertilize the egg
