If you have or ever had a 2000 Honda Civic EX, have your brakes ever locked up causing an accident?

I was involved in an accident on the freeway when the roads were wet and the car in front of me all of a sudden stopped and started spinning around. She said her brakes locked up. I was wondering if this was just a freak accident or more common than that in Hondas.

i put 140 thousand miles on my 2000 civic and never had any problems with my brakes. they are not all anti lock brakes on every model.

um her brakes were faulty due to lack of maintenance...ur supposed to change ur brake fluid every 2 years or so..... not to mention pad/rotor/drum/shoe replacement....along with needed small parts......and the calipers and cylinders as well as the master should b checked at least once a year....

sounds like her abs system acted up again most likely due to lack of maintenance.......either that or driver error.....but i highly doubt she will ever admit to that....
