Atheists: Can You Prove That...?

Can you prove that God does not exist and that theories (like the Big Bang, Evolution, etc.) exist. Not just proof, but hard fact proof that I can find anywhere? Anyday?

After all that has been said here, I know that i dont have the proof but this is just a piece for ya all to consider also......

I would rather live my life as if there is a God,

And die to find out there isn't, than live my life

As if there isn't, and die to find out there is--Albert Camus

NO! That's the point! We're Atheists, so most of us can realize that we do not know everything about the universe like you christians claim to. Almost all Atheists automatic reaction to this question is "Yes, obviously." But it's not obvious to you. We can mostly prove it, but we are not (generally) so ignorant to say that we know to 100% certainty.

We know that we are human, and so what we know about the universe is a work in progress.

We can say with quite a bit of certainty that there is no God(s). You can find arguments against gods online all over, and if you are actually truth seeking rather than just goat-getting online, then I suggest you consider Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion".

It makes an extremely good case against any god.

Evolution is true, it's a natural process. If you want to learn what that is, I suggest you take an evolutionary biology course at a local college or start actually trying to understand the mechanism rather than simply denying it. If you can logically explain why evolution couldn't work, you have to understand it.

Same with the Big Bang Theory.

No, I can't prove that Zeus doesn't exist, however, there is a great deal of evidence that can be explained by the Big Bang theory. Mainly, the fact that the universe is expanding supports the Big Bang theory, and the predicted cosmic background radiation from the Big Bang event has also been observed. Remember, these observations were made many years before the Big Bang theory was developed to explain them.

It is not possible to prove a negative. It is always for the asserter of existence to prove. However, there is a lot of evidence against the existence of God (well, in fact any god). It comes from the claims of the followers. There are so many contradictions and errors in the concept of God that it forms a base for rejection:

    > It is claimed that God is loving and all powerful... However, either

a/ he is not all powerful because he lets deserters happen.

or b/ he is not all loving because he lets innocents suffer and die for no good reason.

As for the big bang, abiogenisis and evolution, I cannot be bothered to write evidence for them because if you ether: were not paying attention in class or you cannot be bothered to find out about your own world. However, I have listed below references:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_bang

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution

Now, because Christians are so eager to ask your question, and it asked at least once a day, answer this:

Can you prove that the Big Bang, abiogenisis and Evolution, does not exist and that God exist. Not just proof, but hard fact proof that I can find anywhere? Any day?

Hint: The Bible cannot be an answer because that is a circular argumant and thus always wrong.

Can I ask YOU a question?

Can you prove that a god or gods do/does exist? Not just proof, but hard fact proof that I can find anywhere? Anyday?

The bible does not count for proof.

    >Can you prove that God does not exist

logical fallacy: negative proof / burden of proof.

we can, of course, show you the biblical god does not exist, but you would just argue for a god with different characteristics.

    >and that theories (like the Big Bang, Evolution, etc.) exist.

Scientific hypotheses only become theories when they are supported by all the evidence, and disproved by none.

Here is evidence for the big bang - I don't know how much you can understand:

    * Einstein's general theory of relativity implies that the universe cannot be static; it must be either expanding or contracting.

    * The more distant a galaxy is, the faster it is receding from us (the Hubble law). This indicates that the universe is expanding. An expanding universe implies that the universe was small and compact in the distant past.

    * The big bang model predicts that cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation should appear in all directions, with a blackbody spectrum and temperature about 3 degrees K. We observe an exact blackbody spectrum with a temperature of 2.73 degrees K.

    * The CMB is even to about one part in 100,000. There should be a slight unevenness to account for the uneven distribution of matter in the universe today. Such unevenness is observed, and at a predicted amount.

    * The big bang predicts the observed abundances of primordial hydrogen, deuterium, helium, and lithium. No other models have been able to do so.

    * The big bang predicts that the universe changes through time. Because the speed of light is finite, looking at large distances allows us to look into the past. We see, among other changes, that quasars were more common and stars were bluer when the universe was younger.

Note that most of these points are not simply observations that fit with the theory; the big bang theory predicted them.

    No.

    Yes.

Not exactly sure what "hard fact proof" is, but the Theories of Evolution and "Big Bang" development of the universe are used every day in the hard sciences. They are just as much true in practice as the Theory of Gravity and the Germ Theory of Disease. In other words, science considers them fact whether you do or not.

If you don't understand that, you are missing some very important pieces in your education.

Can you prove that Quetzalcoatl does not exist and myths like Adam and Eve and the flood exists. Not just proof, but hard fact proof that I can find anywhere, any day? Or are you a hypocrite?

The cosmic background radiation is effectively seeing the Big Bang in radio waves. Fossil succession alone proves evolution happened. But there is a ton more evidence for both.

We don't have to prove that god doesn't exist. Your claim, you need evidence.

prove that God does not exist

fallacious argument - the burden of proof rests with those asserting a deity does exist - I have nothing to prove in that regard, as for evolution - antibiotic resistant bacteria is simple everyday proof, for the big bang - the CMB
