Cloudiness in water and ick?

I just got a 10 gallon tank, my first ever. I had done all maintnence and water test was good. so i got 2 black mollies 2 days ago. they were doing really good! swimming about, eating well, then all of the sudden one died. Now this one has white spots and after some research i found that it's ick. i baught a treatment today and haven't noticed any changes yet, but the water was really cloudy this morning before treatment, and still is cloudy. will this pass with treatment or is it due to something else? any does this 'ick' happen to all new fish? also, once it clears up, when can i add new fish?(since he's now alone, if he survives i want him to have other fish with him)

Update:

i said it was cloudy even before treatment started. also, my water was cycled for 2 weeks and tests constantly before adding fish. does this still cause spikes in ammonia? and how do you stop that?

Update 2:

of course its filtered, heated and has had water treatments.

the cloudyness could be the amonia spike as it is very cloudy when this happens.also it could just be from the move. i think it is something like 1 out of 5 fish die in 1st day or 2 from the move. also the fish may of alredy been sick when you got it. when you are at the fish shop choosing your fih look for healthy fish, clean tanks, bright/full colour fish and give them a good looking over and check if they have anything wrong wih them before you buy them. ick ( or ich both same thing) dosnt happen to all new fish. you can add fish when ever you would like but it is advisedyou wait untill the water has cleard up alittle bit.also when adding fish to the tank do not add to many at once because the bactiria that are needed to keep a healthy tank will struggle so add 2-4 at a time unless u get some of that bactiria in a bottle and add some of that as you add the fish

With most fish tank medicines, you have a hospital tank which you use the medicine in because most of the medicines will make your tank dirty, or a bright colour.

    it sounds like the medicine.

Basically you add more medicine each day for one week, and then you do a 50% water change, this applies for most fish tank medicines.

There could be two main reasons the fish would have died.

The first, if the tank was not cycled it would be an ammonia build up, which spikes when new fish are added.

The second the fish was stressed from the move to the new tank, this is known as new tank syndrome.

Hopefully the tank is filtered, this will definitely minimize fish death.

    Good luck!
