Low laptop CPU speed?

My Toshiba laptop is equipped with a 1.86ghz Intel Centrino, but is under clocked at 770mhz to save battery power when mobile. I hardly bring my laptop outside my home. Is there anyway of increasing the CPU speed to its max?

Simply use the computer. The CPU will automatically raise its clock frequency when you use it. Forcing it to run at the maximum frequency all the time will actually make it run slower, as it would be unable to keep the CPU temperature under control without throttling.

yes if you go into the BIOS (motherboard settings) when your computer starts (usually press F2) you can change the clock speed.
