Parking my car for a month?

Due to a change in job location, I will no longer be driving my 95 Honda Civic every day. In fact I can see it staying in the garage for weeks at a time (it's our second car but I will need it again in the future so I can't get rid of it yet). Is there anything I should be concerned about? any steps I should take to make sure it runs well when I do need to drive it?

As long as it's driven for 30 minutes to an hour every week or two it should be fine. The biggest thing is to keep as close to a full tank of gasoline as possible to prevent condensation. Adding fuel stabilizer is also a good idea. You should still do oil and filter changes but do them on a time basis, every 3 to 6 months rather than by mileage as oil sitting between short trips will condense moisture and build up acids. Keep an eye on the tire pressures and keep them up. I have a '68 Mustang that only gets driven occasionally. I've found that I have to keep a cover on it to keep the birds from making deposits even though I keep it in the garage. They seem to fly in anytime the doors are open.

A month is not too long , watch out for your brakes binding fast the the rims ,and a flat battery .

If possible release the handbrake and gently chock the wheels.Be prepared to have a flat battery , recharge battery when you get back.

Remove the battery and reinstall when you want to use it again(or buy a battery charger) otherwise you will be fine.
