my internet explorer can't open more than one tab.?

It has no problem opening a website on the first tab but when I try to open another website with another tab it sits there for a little bit with the green bar partially done. Then it reverts back to the new tab screen. It's not the website because if I use Firefox it opens just fine. What's going on?

    Just stop using it, firefox and google chrome are faster and better. Internet explorer is just as bad as vista

    Your Internet explorer has obviously been damaged, all you need to do is download it again from the net (use Firefox to download it).

    Try using Firefox as your main browser instead. It's better.

    start, control panel, add/remove programs, add/remove windows components.

    uncheck IE, click next...etc. until IE is uninstalled.

    recheck IE, click next...etc. until IE is reinstalled.

    everything in IE will be reset back to defaults if I am not mistaken.
