GOOOH, get out of our house?

a grass roots program with the idea of getting everyone in out, on line application. Thoughts any one. Is this good or bad? Referring to our dysfunctional govt officials in Washington.

Update:

the plan is to get rid of career politicians and replace them with real people. you can google it to find the web pages. I suspect it will take off.

Update 2:

GOOOH, get out of our house, referring to our government.

Update 3:

Anthony, I agree. This may be a good starting point

Never ever happen dear Lady - the powers that do control things will never ever let that happen - the vote is a joke and the right & left is another one.

I have mixed feelings. If he American voters aren't smart enough to vote in good people up until now, what will ensure they can do it this time around.

What we need is true campaign reform. All funds donated should be anonymous and go into a central fund. Every candidate gets an equal share. They have access to three radio, TV, and News spread. They may use funds to set up a website. Then they must make their case to the voters.

No frills, no negative campaigns, no BS (well at least tone it down). Q & A can be handled on the web and call in shows.

I think it's a good idea, but may not do much good. We tried that a few years ago in Pennsylvania. It was called Pa. Clean Sweep. We managed to get some of the elected servants out, but many people still voted for a recognizable name and many of the the incumbents were voted back in. But you have to start somewhere and get the word out. I think this is as good as anyplace to start, sure beats doing nothing.

It's a crap shoot. What politician hasn't stretched the truth to get into office? I think public lie detector tests should be required for everyone who seeks public office. Then we might come close to getting some honest representation. However, the pool of eligible candidates would probably be very, very small.

GOOOH stands for Get Out of Our House, which is a grassroot campaign to get rid of incumbents, no matter what party they are from. It's a fine idea in theory, but people usually love their own congressperson, so it won't work.

But...who is in line to take over for them? I have a feeling our power and money hungry officials will only become worse as time goes by.

There should be limits-8 years maximum and no lifetime careers on our dime. They get a little too comfortable and lazy.

I am not sure if anything that drastic needs to be done, but something needs to change for the better.
