Are there any problems from bypassing the heater core?
My mom had a guy bypass the heater core in my car and he cut the hose that went from the engine to the heater core and placed it where the hose from the heater core went into the engine. Is there going to be any problems now that the path the water/antifreeze travels is shorter?
I not worried about heat so much, just was wondering if it will damage the engine or something.

I think you are more concerned about the reliability of the car now and not the fact (which you surely know\) that you will have no heat in your car...
No problems at all. Heater core is really just a luxury feature and has no effect on the cooling system if you were to shorten the distance so as not to include the heater core.
Hope it is warm where you are!!

Bypassing the heater core means no heat for you. De-Icing your windows is going to be a tuffy as well.
It's not so bad in the winter, just wear a lot of layers

Doesn't sound like something I'd want done. Kind of lost me. I guess it wouldn't be bad if you didn't want to blow air in your car.
