Charlotte in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice?

I'm not sure about the play but in Pride and Prejudice the novel Charlotte Lucas has a fairly small role, she's Elizabeth Bennet's best friend and ends up marrying Mr Collins who originally wanted to marry Elizabeth. Charlotte is settling when she marries Collins but for her that's okay, she doesn't need to marry for love, she just wants to live a content life being a wife and mother.
