who can explain this? if there is only one God, why are there so many different denominations that follow one?

there is no contradiction. there are some that are looking for the truth and some that are looking to rewrite the truth. the ones who look to the KJV of the bible and leave it not unto their own understanding are trying to understand the parables of the bible, therefor understanding the truth. that's what Jesus is: He is the light, the truth,the way.

    Jesus said; There shall be one flock and one Shepherd. And there is. Gods true church lies within the heart and mind of Gods people. Those who follow and praise the Father as Jesus did are of that church and belong not to any religion on earth. Jesus's words is truth from the Father, and only those who ask for there true interpretation shall understand and be guided by the Father and verified through the spirit of Jesus Christ, who was the first of the Father's many immortal souls to come and inhabit flesh. Remember, God only inhabits temple of flesh.

    Jesus overcame the world. He was not in-line with it and neither is the world in line with the truths of his words. When one truly learns who they pray to as Jesus said to the woman at the well, then they will be humbled and begin to see the light that they come from. But this will not happen until God, the Father reveals to the mind of all living flesh a truth, that some have but cannot share with the world at this time. Why? Because many will reject this truth, for they love the cover of the darkness of this world and that is why Peter rejected Jesus three times in one night. So will the worldly reject the Father who Jesus praised.

    Until the world learns that the words of Jesus were of his Father's kingdom which is spiritual, and not of worldly concerns, then and only then will they overcome the world as Jesus did. The world crucified the man, Jesus, and now they've made Jesus a God, which is idolatry in the eyes of the Father, But the spirit of Jesus lives and inhabits those who his Father sends him to with pure hearts and minds that search for truths beyond the knowledge of man that are not taught in worldly churches.

    1 corinthians 2; 5. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

    This scripture I've just quote from the Bible shows how few truly follow God and how many follow men and their knowledge. Think about it.

    By the way there are other scriptures and books that tie in with the Bible which have truths that verify all that Jesus spoke. And even his own words that many religions do not speak of. Why? Because Jesus himself spoke down of the religions of man and his own disciples who would lead astray many generations of mankind to follow the ways of the world we live in, through the worlds interpretation of the words of Jesus.

    I don't expect you to believe one word I've shared with you, but I can not lie, for the spirit of the Father guides me in all I answer and yet very few to none will agree, for I agree, I'm not in line with the religious thinkers of today's world and that's because I'm taught by the true God from a higher heaven than the world prays to. My spiritual freedom allows me a freedom that none who cling to the world and all it's ways, will ever find. Now I know how Jesus could let himself be captured and crucified without trying to save his own life. Yes, this world has re-crucified Jesus over and over again. For as any person who does right by the Father, and who is not a member of any church on earth and who believes in a higher God, he also is shunned and rejected by the worldly who do follow the true creator of this world and it's not who they think it is.

    Why do you think so many are slowly leaving the churches of man? Not because they don't believe in God, but because some have found him and as Jesus did, they leave the churches of man to learn more than what man teaches. Read Ezekiel 14; 7-11. See what God thinks of those who ask men to learn of him. God wishes to teach his own. And he is.

    They are his true church. Not the religions of the world. May the spirit of truth touch your heart and mind and let a little light in your life, that can set you free from the vain rituals and ordinances of worldly men and their God who loves to separate and divide, while Gods true people are one with him in mind and heart towards all mankind, without judgment or revenge.

    There is only one God. However, there are many different doctrines regarding the correct way to worship Him.

    The different denominations contradict each other, from basic beliefs to how to perform ordinances like baptism: i.e. Are God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit all one being, or are they three seperate personages? Who can forgive sin? What is the correct way to baptize and at what age: sprinkling, immersion, as a child, an adult, a baby?

    Since they contradict each other, they cannot all be correct, and you must find the church with the most true principles, the one closest to the church Jesus Christ himself established here on the earth. You can do this by study and by faith and by searching and finding out for yourself which one is right.

    God made man. Man made Religion. I believe that there is only 1 God and many different religions have certains parts and pieces of his perception correct. Alot of religions were made to order so to speak. Like 50 people are going to the same church and 25 of them start a new church with slightly different rules to suit themselves and their own needs and wants.Kinda like making your own God the way you think he would want things. I think that the best way to look at it is find the church or place of worship that focuses on chasing after God and seeking what is right instead of talking about rules and doctrine and not even thinking about what God wants.

    There are as many views of God as there are people. Those with similar views congregate together into "denominations". Men created denominations.

    God is all, in all the stuff of His creation, both materially and spiritually. God is singular, while His creation is infinite. We, as humans are limited in our view of God and only through Christ Jesus, His Son, and His Holy Spirit, are we able to see and know a modicum of the infinite.

    Denominations are irrelevant in the reality of the one and only God of all creation. There are no denominations in Heaven, and all true Christians will let go of their personal beliefs and church doctrines in favor of the one infinite and eternal truth that is God.

    Because they diverge from the Bible and must come up with a name other than "of Christ" to market their made up doctrine. Thus they are a denomination of false teachings.

    For example, central organization that dictated to all the local churches, baby sprinkling, praying to dead men and women, etc. It is unbiblical and you won't find that in a church of Christ.

    Musical Instruments are unbiblical so those that pushed for that had to split off and create their own church with another name.

    Then we have all sorts of churches that believe in Calvanism or parts of it that claim baptism is not necessary for salvation or once saved, you can't lose your salvation. All of which is unbiblical and that spawns other dark churches that claim to be christian.

    And of course the people that believe the church is a country club and service provider... that breaks away form Christ's church.

    Most of them are set up for profit and tax breaks, so you have to have your own unique name there too.

    Scripture mingled with the philosophies of men. If someone doesn't like what one man says the scriptures mean they make up their own interpretation. Thus a new religion is formed. The trick is to find the one that has not been corrupted.

    Christianity has been split into over 38,000 different denominations, sects and cults setting christian against christian and christians against everyone else!!

    God's work? Hardly!!

    It must be the Devil and the Antichrist working together to divide, conquer and destroy christianity from the inside!!!

    Because they use HIS name and say, "Hey, we don't like His rules. So we'll make up our own and use His name."

    It's easy to do, really.
