In my opinion, reading a book is much better than listening to an audiobook. Why? Because you can read books at the speed that you'd like to, you can easily re-read the parts of a book that you loved and freely skip the parts that you don't like. With an audiobook, sometimes you have the problem that the story is going on too slowly, or it's at a boring part and you just have to wait and wait, and other times, you have the problem of the person narrating the story as having a very irritating voice. I also find it much easier to read a book and imagine the characters in my head when I'm actually reading a book rather than listening to an audiobook. For me personally, I just find that reading books is far, far better than listening to audiobooks, but that's just my opinion. =]

Yes, because in an audio book, you might not understand something but you cant really go back as quickly to re-listen, and you may not understand some words. You might not like the voice of the person reading and how they express your dialogue. It limits more of your imagination.

Reading the book is quite better and different for me. You can slowly progress inventing characters in your brain, and go back or pause if your trying to understand something. You can imagine the dialogue coming with the characters voices, not the audio books. It gives you more time to wonder.

I wouldn't say its better.. but it can be a little more fun. When you read something.. you can make the character sound how you want them to in your head, but when you listen to an audio book, their voice is usually somewhat robotic. I don't like them for that reason. I know that I hate listening to the audio book of a book that I have already read.. it really get on my nerves because I find myself constantly thinking "he never said it like that, or that was supposed to by suspenseful!" So, I can't really say that reading is better.. but it is definitely my preference. I hope I was helpful,

    Tors.

I like to do both I always listen to audio books in the car and at home if I am doing housework or relaxing with my knitting or on the laptop. And I also listen to books if I can't sleep as I work nights and my sleep patterns are up the creek sometimes

I read books as well, and usually have several on the go at once and go from one to the other.

reading a book means you're going at your own pace.

but listening is also a fun alternative... and better for your eyes?
