Reported. It's one thing to be devisive, and another to be insulting.

They're not---it's media over-exposure. Whenever some tiny incident happens in Israel that involves them, it gets hyper-reported around the world. No one looks good when under the microscope 24/7 like that.
Case-in-point: the 'spit scandal' that happened earlier this year, when Haaretz, Israel's (sometimes self-hating) newspaper ran a section on Hassids spitting on Christian groups...completely ignoring that those Christians who seemed to make the time to go to Haaretz and complain could just as easily have called the police and ended the problem then and there. Of course, the Guardian read this, and thought that this was the most relevant and compelling event that has ever happened in the Middle East, and ran a couple articles on that. Before long, papers along the world were meticulously reporting the heck out of the tremendous 'problem' of Hassids spitting on Christians. Of course, Messi groups throught Israel, who have to maintian a steady list of Jewish 'grievances' against them to convince people that Jews just don't like them because Jews hate all Christians, suddenly realized that they were getting spit on, too. One might have thought that you couldn't go shopping at a mall in Israel, or sit at a bus stop, or go to one of the many churches in Israel without some crazy Hassid spitting on you. MAYBE one or two Hassids spit on a Christian leader, and it became a worldwide event.
Interestingly enough, none of the good things that Hassids do ever makes global news the way that does.

People like to generalize.
Like for instance some people say "Southerners are racist"
I am a southerner and most certainly not racist!!!
It is soo crappy to assume that an entire region of people are a certain way based on the actions of a small group of people. (And from what I understand, the Hassidic Jews make up a small percentage of the Israeli population.)

No sort of Judaism believes in Hell. the closest we come to it is a non everlasting purification era the place the soul burns with disgrace, no longer actual fireplace. "the chosen" isn't a stable e book to income approximately Judaism from- it has some egragarious blunders approximately Judaism in it and extremely badly portrays the chassidishe life kind. The "bringing a new child up in silence" he makes use of there has no longer been oftentimes used interior the chassidishe international for properly over one hundred fifty years, or perhaps earlier that became into almost under no circumstances completed- yet he consists of it in a as much as date e book as though it have been a uncomplicated factor! in case you decide on for to income approximately Judaism, study a non-fiction e book written by potential of somebody authoritative, no longer a fiction e book by potential of an author who makes numerous blunders on his concern rely.

Though I've left Mississippi many times, I've never made it to Israel so I have no reason to believe Hassidics are racist.

because of the actions of some of them..."racist" is an oft misapplied term. They are not a "race"... religious bigots would be a more appropriate label for a large segment of that group.... not all of them

Um, I'm sure some are. In pretty much every group some are racist and/or xenophobic. Or do you mean they think ALL of them are racist? That would be silly.

They're likely not racists. I wouldn't worry about it.
