Do you recommend going to the Cancun side of mexico during hurricane season?
I want to go to an all inclusive resort for my honeymoon, however, ours is at the end of June (June 26-July 3) There aren't many choices for all inclusive places during this time due to rainy season/hurricane season. The only places are Mexico. and I have already been to the other side of Mexico (Puerto Vallarta) and if we went I would want to go to the other side. But do you reccomend going during this time? I know it would be really hot. That's no concern... but I mean for storms.... (any other suggestions greatly appreciated) =) thanks

Well let me tell you my families experiences we went to cancun 3 times during the hurricane season and all 3 times we missed the major hurricanes by ONE DAY and im being completely serious (we are one lucky *** family lol). I would just recommend to go earlier because I don't think you want to take the chance of getting unlucky and be stranded in a hotel during a storm.

When I travel to Mexico I always go in July! It is hurricane season but out of all the times I have traveled to Mexico (which has been all my life) I never experienced a hurricane while I was there. There may be a few thunderstorms now and then, but other than that..the weather isn't bad! I went to Puerto Vallarta last July and the weather was great! There was only 2 days when it stormed. So i'd say July is a pretty safe time to go to Mexico, at least for me it was :) Have fun if you go! :)

I used to live in Florida, that's pretty early in the season. Most don't occur until later in the summer, August til Sept. BUT, we had a pretty wicked winter, didn't we as a whole? Some weather people think we may really be in for it this year for Atlantic storms. All you can do is monitor the weather, and watch for those storms. Chances are if Africa is getting hammered on the West side, those storms are going to come west to the US or some other place. (Mexico, Cuba, etc.)

It's perfectly safe, I have been several times during June-July with no problems. You can keep your eye on the weather channel while there just to be safe, but you would have plenty of warning before any problems. The Yucatan is a beautiful area, and I highly reccomend it!
