Stud services question?

Okay, so a have a purebreed dog.

He provided stud services to a female, and the arrangement was the puppy share program, that is, we get a puppy. Now the owners of the female dog are saying that the female didn't get pregnant.

My stud dog has been proven to produce pups. So my question isÑ

Should we still charge the owners of the female dog, because they failed to produce pups?

No. The deal was a puppy. It is very common for a breeding not to take. Many breeders charge a stud fee, and that usually means whether the female becomes pregnant or not, but if the deal was a puppy, well there are no puppies.

If you have written contract then you follow what that says.

If not take it as a learning experience and the next time someone wants stud services make sure all things are covered in the contract and that it is signed the both of you.

And honestly your dog may be proven but, has the dog been tested make sure that he actually has healthy sperm and is disease free? Things happen and sometimes dogs cannot produce offspring.

Also has she been checked to make sure she doesn't have any reproductive issues?

    No.

For one, a dog can go sterile, has he been tested to "prove" he can still produce pups?

Has their dog been tested, to see if she has fertility issues?

It is very possible it just didn't take, and your the one who made the deal of a puppy, not cash. And you cannot blame the other owners, especially because it could be your dogs problem.

Although any responsible dog owner who was studding their dog, would have had a clear and explicit contract to cover all ends. I'm guessing your not really in that category, and more in the studding business for the money...

Who says THEY failed to produce pups? Your dog could have easily been the problem this time. You get NOTHING if there is no litter. And why didn't you all discuss what happens if no litter was produced?

For all they know your dog could have picked up brucellosis at some point and is now sterile. Matings don't take for ALL sorts of reasons, doesn't matter what he's done in the pass, EVERYONE has bad days.

If you two didn't work out a plan for this situation you have no standing to charge them anything.

No, you can always try again. Keep a good relationship with the Owners of the Female if you can. It was the dogs who didn't produce, not the owners. Good Luck

Why is it that a waiting record is a bad concern. human beings prepared to get on one and easily wait are helping to teach their dedication to any puppy they convey domicile. it works this style with respected breeders you understand. i'm on a wait record and it would desire to be an entire 300 and sixty 5 days earlier there's a puppy waiting to come back domicile. people who "impulse" purchase domestic dogs are lots extra probable to have carried out no ideal learn and their canines finally end up in rescues and shelters. did you understand that 60% of each and every of the canines in shelters come from outdoor breeders, that's what you would be in case you intentionally breed a mixed breed. Please do no longer connect the ranks of those inflicting our over inhabitants issue. I assure you there are small canines in shelters, merely much less probable to discover doggies. that is because of the fact uneducated vendors purchase a small breed, understand this is better than they are in a position to deal with and by using the time the canine is two or 3, they renounce it and make it somebody else's issue. extra: Line breeding is totally appropriate and can be useful IF the breeder easily is familiar with what they are doing. How do you think of purebreds easily got here to be? Line breeding became used substantially. yet my canine is purebred and entirely healthful. do no longer take some undesirable breeders and attempt to be taught them to those respected ones who're devoted to their breed and convalescing on it. by using the way, there's no longer something noble to be mentioned approximately breeding mutts.

Well it's your opinion..But is it really their fault that the ***** failed to produce pups?? Maybe it didn't work after all..Sometimes in certain breeds (or specific individual dogs/bitches) producing doesn't work 100% of the time..What breed do you have?

    Nope

pregnancy sometimes doesnt happen. There's no pups, no one gets anything out of it.

Check and make sure they're not lying about their dog being pregnant. They might lie so they can make more money.
