Need help With street bike safety gear... Read detail for situation please.?

Little back ground I need to purchase safety gear for street motorcycle. Info about me I'm big not tall but width wise. I'm 5' 9" about 275. I'm a either a 3 or 4 XL shirt wise My waist is 42.

Now for what I'm asking. I need to buy everything pants, leather jacket, gloves, and helmet.

I'm not sure of what brands to buy or anything like that I do know though that I have a 750 budget for all this stuff (it was 500, but youtube videos really have a way of persuading you). So any suggestions on what to buy brand wise and how the clothe is suppose to feel (really a second question now). I'm looking into buying all this stuff by next Monday. Thank you.

Update:

Johnny

I live in So Cal towards the San Diego area

Go to the shops along Kelantan Lane / Rochore Road - cost wise they cheaper to get there - whatever you choose just make sure are comfortable and fitting - not to floppy or loose fitting. Then make sure you can squat or stoop comfortably. Then try sitting on your bike in riding position - are you comfortable ? Choose also bright / easy to notice colours and that the jacket especially is 'breatheable' and has some ventilation. Brand wise at this stage not important because of your budget. For helmet go to Serangoon Road near the junction with Beatty Road, there is a shop with a Huge helmet outside - they do have a good range and proper sizing is done by the staff.

I agree with Johnny completely, I just wanted to throw in a tid bit about helmets. If you're going to spend any kind of chunk of change on any one item, make it your helmet. Dont shy away from pricier ones thinking its the brand or graphics thats causing the inflation (though yes you will pay more for graphics.. however that doesnt add up to much, usually a 10-50 dollar increase depending on which brand. For example, shoei helmets have their graphics hand applied) its all in how the helmet is made, and from what materials. Neck fatigue SUCKS, and the lighter your helmet physically is the less chance you have of experiencing that. What would you say your head is worth? Thats what you pay for a helmet.

I dont know where you're at, the states? Cause holy, 750 for a set of riding gear... thats pretty good. Youd be looking at closer to a grand here in Canada.

We have a no helmet law here. Everyone included. You can also put the kids in the back of a pickup and go down the road.Growing up where I did we had a helmet law. If you were off road, then you could go without a helmet, but on road, you needed a helmet. Have a great evening, thank you.
