why did Hurt Locker win at the Oscars. 2010..?

when this film was relased in 2008...... unless im just stupid.

and dont understand the way the oscars work....

    It got the most votes.

    Just like election we may not understanding the votes but that is the way it is.

    From Sunday comments on CBS information (60 minutes) i presumed that the director is familiar with how the journalist Mark Boal progressed the script and tale -- provide him credit for his courageous coverage

  • I suppose it was because it wasn't released in the US until 2009. Whatever happened, I'm glad it won.

    edit- Donesha, The Hurt Locker was nominated FAR before that even happened, so your point is irrelevant.

    The same reason 'The Lovely Bones' was listed although it wasn't really released until Jan. 2010. It was expedient.
