why are some people not fighting just holding on to each other in the fight after the Montreal and Flyers game?

at one point carter, subban, leighton and plekanic are just holding each other is it to hold them back or something else

    Because if they fought after the game they could have been fined or even suspended.

    They are just holding them in case they decide to make a move and go after someone.
