what should I pay for a timing chain in a chevy cavalier?

It is a 1998 4cyl....where is it located and how difficult to replace!! Was hoping to buy this car and need to know what the repair cost will be, so I sort of need a break down, parts, labor.

Thanks in advance!!

Update:

We know a motor rebuilder and several mechanics in the fam........but I think I am going to just leave it alone!!

Thanks for the advise!

The 2.2l engine is ran by a chain and gear, the problem is, if it jumped timing or the chain broke. I have seen that happen several times. I am 100% positive that the exhaust valves in the cylinder head are bent and will need to be replaced. This engine is a zero tolerance engine and when they lose timing the pistons will hit the valves causing them to bend. Last one I did, cost 400 for parts and 500 for labor. If you have never done this type of work before, I really wouldn't recommend trying it.

    Hope this helps. Christopher

P.S. My best advise, don't buy it.
