What does a mom get her daughter for her bridal shower?

If there isn't a shower theme, then just get her something small from her registry.

My mom didn't do seperate wedding/shower gifts. She just got me china from my registry as my 1 big gift.

Please don't get her a photo album or picture frame. Why do people think this is a great gift idea? I got several photo albums for my wedding, and I don't use any of them. I got a wedding photo album from my photographer, I didn't need 3 others. And the same goes with picture frames. Brushed silver engraved frames do not belong all over my house. I have 1 wedding photo of us up on display, I don't want any others.

You really need to sit down with your future daughter-in-law and find out what SHE wants. If she really wants her mom to be doing this, then you need to step back. I know it's hard, but it is her mom and for all the strain in the relationship, this is an event that girls usually look forward to sharing with mom. On the other hand, she may very well be much happier working with you and doesn't really want her mom involved that much but isn't sure how to tell her that without hurting her or straining the relationship further. She sounds like a good person that probably doesn't want to hurt anyone and feels caught in a catch-22. The best thing you can do is to help her sort out what she really wants and help her make that a reality. Trust me, if you are there for her (even if she chooses mom in this) she will not forget what you have done and what a kind person you were for stepping back and letting her have it her way. My mom bought the gorgeous cake topper that I wanted but t justify spending that kind of money on, plus she bought me a beautiful wedding photo album and then some household items that were on my gift registry as well.

Something great off her registry. Or you could get her a gift certificate to a spa for a massage or to get her hair done or nails done.

My mom gave me a gift certificate to get my hair dyed as well as a totally useless chocolate fountain (she likes to give odd things, kinda funny, but that's my mom and I love her!).

My mother got me a wine of the month club for a year for my bridal shower... she knew both of us would love it

My older sister who has married off three kids recently - got her daughter, and two DILs - an oval Le Crueset casserole. Yes, expensive, but WOW!!!

Hello! My mother gave me money for the shower. My MIL gave me one of our silver settings (but she got it for half price on ebay!). Then my mother got me a silver setting for my wedding gift and my MIL paid for our alcohol tab at the wedding. I appreciated both gifts!

how close are you to her? you could really have fun with this gift.
