There's always a few scumbags trying to make money from someone else's misfortune. I remember a city bus accident a few years back where there were about twice as many injury claims submitted than there were seats on the bus, and not all the seats were filled at the time of the accident.

I did see someone post about a hybrid being different and not being able to shift into neutral. I'd like to know more about this - if it's true.

It will be interesting to see what tests reveal.

Do you remember the Firestone tire scandal?

My gut feeling with that California guy was that he's either really naive or kind of stupid or trying to pull a fast one or after the publicity?

I bet his ordeal was scary but I don't think he was completely innocent or he just is clueless.

No judgments. Just questions at this point.

The loss-of-control incidents, accidents and fatalities are very real. Hopefully the adverse publicity, media pressure, customer backlash and judicial investigations cause Toyota to finally do the right thing, own up and fix the defects once and for all.

I have a 2010 Toyota and after 9000 miles have had no problems with it. The brakes always work. Ther shifter always works. The mat never comes off its hook to jam the gas pedal. There are a lot of lawyers hungry for class action settlement money. Even 33% will fill their pockets from an out of court settlement. Lazy basterds.

The Prius guy managed to stop his car after the highway patrol showed up. The "little black box can and will tell the truth and Toyota knows better than to give any outsider a chance to monkey with that priceless information. You want to know the truth. Just stop your car while holding the gas down. It will stop.

The effort is to sink Toyota and hope for GM to rise back to dominance. The demand should have come long ago for GM to build better cars if they wanted to dominate the market. They couldn't do it even side-by-side with Toyota at Nummi. Any GM worker could tell you what POS' all the GM cars are. The best models they have now are made by Opel- the Buick, the Cadillac. The worst POS they had was the Pontiac GTO- an Australian imported Holden, that was defective right out of the showroom. It didn't take a week for so many of them to fail that repairs were swamped due to no supply that could keep up. Look for Isizu to help them. They built the Chevy LUV. Look for Vauxhall to help them. GM cannot pull itself together so it's war on other car makers.

don r, you have it nailed. We GM owners have been buying Toyotas to fake acceleration issues in them to discredit the company. We will go to the extent of killing ourselves and our families to put GM back at the top, where it belongs. I'm scheduled to drive a boring, silver Camry into a building at noon on Saturday. Watch the news.

    Effin' conspiracy theory lunatics!
