Should we move in together?
My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 1/2 years. We've had separate apartments until about 6 months ago. He got into an argument with his roommate and decided to move out, and so he moved in with me until he could find a new place. It turned into us living together and for the past 6 months everything has been great. Now, my lease is up and we have to decide what to do. We both want to get a place of our own together, but friends and family keep saying that it's not a good idea because if we were to break up then we would both be stuck with a lease.
We're both out of college and have good jobs, so money and age isn't the question. Is it a good idea to live with someone you're dating?

There are two schools of thought here and neither is right or wrong.
I, personally, believe in cohabitation. It does get messy when there is a break up, so you have to take that into consideration when making this decision.
Living together changes your relationship. You learn what the person is really like on a daily basis rather than "on their best behavior" on a date. You learn what habits they have that may be super annoying, and you can learn to live with it or not.
I was engaged to a guy with whom I was living. After 3 years we called it quits because he was unfaithful. The lease was under both of our names. I moved out and into a new apartment. Many leasing agents are easy to work with in these types of situations - it was not as if NO ONE was living in the apartment and they were going to lose revenue. They just took my name off of the lease altogether. He stayed in the apartment. I moved out. It really wasn't that difficult dealing with the apartment complex.
