Don't be ridiculous. You're in class to listen to the teacher.

I think they should when it's appropriate. Listening to music CAN help some people focus better and all that, but I think the reason they're not allowed is because kids abuse the fact that they can use iPods, don't do their work, or use it when the teacher is instructing. Unfortunately, it's hard to allow something and then control the negative consequences. If the kids would cooperate, I would say it should be allowed but kids never cooperate, so I guess it can't work. =P

No they distract you and the people around you because people play the music so loud.
PLus you can record a pod cast of the answers to a test and then cheat.
If some cheated and got a better grade then you how do you feel??
You could be playing games instead of doing school work.
You could search the web and cheet on a test or quix (ex: iPod touch)
So No they should not be allowed in class.
Keep in mind, i am a freshman.

In my school, we are allowed to listen to music when we are working, not when the teacher is talking. So yes I think they should be allowed.
However, school is for learning not for listening to music. You can do that at home.
