Is it normal that most people my age piss me off? Or is something wrong with me?

I'm 16 years young and sophomore. I'm extremely introverted and picky about who i'm friends with. That's only because people my age piss me off. I have like two good friends and there both guys. They're the only people my age who aren't completely stupid. It's like everyone my age cares about drama, trying to be fit in a certain label (like scene, punk, emo, etc...), The only thing they care about is the latest trend and what to dye their hair next. Most people my age think i'm a jerk, and maybe I am....to them. Like I said most people piss me off at my age because their so empty and there brain revolves around pointless crap. I mean is it just me? Maybe something is just wrong with me.

You're obviously more mature than most kids your age who are like lemmings. They follow the leader no matter where it goes. People may not understand you because you are an independent thinker and you are not trying to blend in. I can relate!

Don't use the amount of friends you have to figure out your own worth. It is OK to not be the most popular kid at school. Just stick to what you believe and continue to be yourself. You will probably find some more people that you can relate to and who will make good friends.

In high school a lot of kids are real clicky, and even if they like you or are attracted to you as a person, they may be afraid to break off from the pack to investigate you. If you are not "in", then you get stigmatized.

You have made a good observation at realizing the foolishness that is prevalent among the kids you age (young adults). It is normal to be frustrated by this, and to maybe get a negative attitude about it. The natural response may be to feel some animosity towards them, or to just be bored by there predictability and unintelligent behavior.

However, I would advise you to try to keep a positive attitude, and not to shut people out. If you are friendly and approachable, you may gain the admiration of some peers. You may find that even if they seem like doofus's, they could be good friends. Either way you don't want to solidify an identity that is based on your feeling separated or "different", which can lead to bitterness or self-pity. If you are comfortable being a cynic (the direction that these beliefs, feelings, and observations can lead one), then by all means explore that, I just think it is wise to try to be positive. If you don't see any breakthrough with kids at school, get some good hobbies outside of school and wait for them to grow up.

I had similar issues, but I was only mildly introverted. Your problem is that you are intolerant and react with anger. Keep it up and you won't have friends when you are older because you are so accustomed to considering everybody beneath you and stupid. Misfits and social outcasts have painfully, lonely lives. Just ask them.. oh..right. You wouldn't know them because you have isolated yourself as well.

I'm not saying this to bug you, but for you to realize that while you may not fit in your small microcosm of the world now, you need to stop deriding others because they DO fit or want to fit a certain label. Just accept that your goals are different and encourage others to join you in more lofty goals.

Honestly, think about it. Do you think honestly think Shawn White fitted in well with his peers in high school? Someone that driven to excel at dangerous sports doesn't usually 'fit in', but once an adult, he can go to where he does. His lofty goals are on a snowboard. Perhaps those around you have not figured out theirs yet.

Your mom is the only which criminal the surgical treatment, so sue her! including your evaluation to gangrene: that is notwithstanding that is existence threatening and your mom ought to don't have to any extent further been given a option notwithstanding to have the well being care service amputate your leg. A circumcision is notwithstanding that is not any longer necessary until eventually it is consequently of cultural, well being, or non secular motives, and thanks to the truth your mom criminal it, there is extremely no longer a lot you'd be in a position to do. She must have professional herself earlier on the problem of circumcision (despite the indisputable fact that in the 1980's the internet replaced into once positively no longer an available furnish because it is at modern-day). when you're extremely that dissatisfied about dropping effective foreskin, you'd be in a position to consistently contact a urologist to seem about foreskin recovery. As for myself, i replaced into left intact and chosen to get circumcised at 23 (this 365 days) notwithstanding least puzzling because of the truth of cultural motives....do I regret it? No. Do i pick I though had the uncomplicated lubrication of my foreskin? definite!!

  • I'm 18 and I feel the same way.

But I'm also a mother and am engaged and have been living on my own since my 17th birthday, with no help from anyone but my fiance.

May I also suggest one little thing.. next time when on a rant about annoying immature people your age.. use the correct form of the word "there". In your sentence it should have been "they're".. as in "they are both guys" "they're both guys" not there.. there means a place.

Sorry, grammar is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Ha ha agreed. Most people our age can be very annoying. There are the rare ones though, who use common sense and are more grown up than the average. They're hard to find but they're out there. lol
